Manure Management Tool

Welcome to the Manure Management Wizard eTool

Please read the following instructions closely before filling out this tool. If after reading the instructions you still have questions, feel free to contact your Elanco representative or EKS for further guidance.

1. Before filling out this tool, be sure to have the following data handy:
   1. Head counts for all project animals (any animal at your site enrolled in this program), with month-based inputs entered by animal group (lactating, dry, and heifers)
   2. Type of housing per animal type
   3. How manure is handled (for liquid and solid streams) per animal type
   4. How much time manure spends in different parts of the system (for example, if you use different types of storage for lactating cows, how many months of the year manure is stored in each system) per animal type
2. After this introduction, there are a total of 8 steps. If solid-liquid separation is used on farm, you have to enter it at Step 3 (Separator Info) and Step 6 (Separated Solid Management) will be included automatically. If no separator is used, leave the default "No" selection at Step 3 (Separator Info) and Step 6 will be skipped.
3. If you are unsure what type of manure management system best applies to your on-farm practices, there are technical descriptions provided at Steps 4, 5, and 6.
